To magnetize your screwdriver, insert the end of it into the “Magnetize” hole. To demagnetize your screwdriver, repeatedly pull the entire length of the screwdriver through the “Demagnetize” hole. Step design permits greater control of magnetizes  -There are many ways to magnetize or demagnetize a diode. One of the most common is to pass the diode through the (+) and (-) openings on the side – this technique results in balanced magnetization, so moving left or right on the diodes will not have an effect.
